MUSIC/PHATT TRAXX WIN A RECORD DEAL CONTEST
OFFICIAL RULES - VALID ONLY IN THE CONTINENTAL
UNITED STATES.
Rules & Regulations
1) Song submissions should be recorded in a professional
manner that is clearly audible. All co-writers must
sign a letter of agreement for the song to be submitted
and must abide by all criteria to enter. If there
are co-writers of the winning entry, the prize package
will be divided between co-writers at their mutual
discretion.
2) Each song must be the contestant’s original
work. No song previously recorded and released through
national or international distribution in any country,
in whole or in part, will be eligible. Contest is
open to amateur and professional songwriters who
are not currently signed with a record label. The
entrant warrants and represents that the songs submitted
are sole, exclusive and original works of the entrant
and have not been paid, published or otherwise distributed.
3) Entrant warrants that submitted material has
not been previously signed with a publisher or record
label.
4) The Epicenter Music A&R Department will determine
finalists. A panel of distinguished recording industry
judges will select winners.
5) Winners will be notified by mail and return an
affidavit of eligibility/recording rights/publicity
release within 14 days of notification date. The
affidavit will state that the winner’s song
is their original work and he/she holds all rights
to the song. Failure to sign and return affidavit
within 14 days of receipt will result in immediate
disqualification and an alternate winner will be
selected. Parent or legal guardian must countersign
affidavits of winners under 18 years of age at time
of award. Affidavits subject to verification.
6) Epicenter Music shall have the right to use the
song in their discretion, without reservation and
without payment to broadcast the song, which comprises
the lyrics and music of entrant.
7) Ownership and copyrights of all songs submitted
shall remain with the songwriter. The only commitment
of entrant is to the songwriting contest. Your entry
does constitute permission to use your name, likeness
and voice for future publicity and advertising purposes
without additional compensation.
8) Epicenter Music is not obligated to return copies
of songs submitted by entrants and shall not be
responsible for any loss or damage suffered by an
entrant as a result of the delivery of the song.
9) All entrants shall hold harmless and hereby indemnify
Epicenter Music/Epicenter Records, LLC, its principals,
employees, agents, subsidiaries and affiliates against
all first, second and third party claims arising
from entries violating any contest rules and regulations.
NO composition of lyrics previously released for
sale in any country will be eligible. This includes
material, which has been signed with a publisher
or record label.
10) All entries must be postmarked no later than
midnight March 31, 2006 PST. Winners will be announced
June 15, 2006.
11) Epicenter Music will select one Grand Prize
winner that will receive 2 nights hotel and round-trip
airfare to Los Angeles to professionally re-record
their winning lyrics. Grand Prize winner will also
win a “single-deal” recording contract
as well as appear on Phatt Traxx, “The Winners”
Compilation CD. Epicenter Music will also select
11 Second Prize winners to re-record their winning
their lyrics to be released on Phatt Traxx "The
Winners" Compilation CD. Epicenter Music retains
the right to choose which music composition/sound
recording all winner's lyrics will be recorded on
to for release on Phatt Traxx “The Winners”
Compilation CD.
12) This contest is open to anyone except directors,
employees and families of Epicenter Music, sponsors
and judges.
13) All decisions are made by Epicenter Music with
respect to the acceptance of any entry and eligibility
of entries shall be final and binding upon all applicants.
14) Epicenter Music will only consider submissions
from entrants who have purchased "Phatt Traxx
Volume 1 or 2", have recorded their lyrics
over a musical composition/sound recording contained
on the "Phatt Traxx Volume 1 or 2" CDs,
and have filled out and returned an Official Phatt
Traxx Contest Entry Form, along with their proof-of-purchase.
All entries must contain contestant's original lyrics
and be submitted in the aforementioned manner of
the contest.
15) Songs can be no longer than 5 minutes. We suggest
you use a 4-Track, karaoke machine, or recording
studio.
16) The contest is subject to all Federal, State,
Provincial and Municipal applicable laws and regulations.
17) Epicenter Music will create a "Phatt Traxx
The Winners" Compilation CD from the top twelve
finalists.
18) Official Entry Form will be mailed with your
order of Phatt Traxx. Send filled out Entry Form,
proof-of-purchase and your cassette or CD to the
